This is too funny. Most BJJ guys know what the Brazilian Tap is but are very careful who they say it around. And here you have to Gracie's joking about it.
That was not a Brazilian Tap though. Sonnen tapped and wanted the fight to end. Instead, the ref started to step in, Anderson let go, there was no official stopage, so Sonnen continued and then the ref stopped it.
Brazilian Tap is a tap hidden from the ref to get your opponent to release and then you continue.
Sonnen/Silva almost turned into Matt Lindland/Murilo Bustamante. In that classic, Lindland tapped but then argued it to Big John McArthy. McArthy then restarted the fight because he was unsure. Bustamante later submitted Lindland for the second time in the same fight.
