mike,took first place in the adult division,3rd in the seniors.outside of a tactical mistake mike looked very impressive...should have won the seniors but was intent on inventing a new move to torture helio in his grave!!!seriously,he represented the academy with dignity in victory or defeat.
Nice job Mike. I figured you would do well. Did you dig your thumb into anyones head, knee, or neck???? Someone told me it really works in tournament BJJ.
I did try out some new tricks, some not so nice. It was a good day, wish I could get back the match I lost though. I couldn't take the guy down, so I tried a cross lapel, x-choke, from standing, then tried to pull him down into my guard to finish the choke, he pulled away when we hit the ground and eventually passed my guard for the win. I won't be trying that again.
here's the best part when we pulled up to the place they already had snow on the ground!!!will,mike did try the knuckle trick!!!how he didn't break a kids arm i have no idea,plus he held an arm in triangle for about two minutes...PLEASE ASK MIKE ABOUT MULLET HEAD.
