The Northeast BJJ Assoc. is hosting the 2009 In-House Championship Tournament on Saturday, December 5th at Boston BJJ. The Tournament is open to all students from Association schools. There will be both gi and no-gi divisions. Format is double elimination (minimum of 4 matches gi and no-gi). Students with an Association membership will receive a discount, priority in weight-class assignments and access to video of matches.
Just wanted to let you guys know that team Gracie Barra NH is in 4th place for the 2009 team title, only 22.5 pts behind Boston BJJ.
As this is the "championship" tournament, all top 3 finishes are weighted an additional 50%, so that's 9 pts for each 1st place finish, 4.5 pts for 2nd, and 2.25 pts for 3rd.
Any of the top 4 schools can take the title with a strong showing, so just a couple extra competitors for any team can make the difference.
Don't forget to sign up for the 2009 Northeast BJJ In-House Championship Tournament, which will be held on Saturday, Dec 5th @ Boston BJJ. Register early (by Nov. 29th) to receive the Association member discount - only $20 for a guaranteed 4 matches. If you would like to receive the discount, but don't yet have an association membership, sign up for your membership online before registering for the tournament.
Door Prizes! We will be raffling away a merchandise package and free attendance at future Association Events. There will be one merchandise package that will be a choice of a gracie barra gi or gracie barra shorts and rash guard. There will also be two "event" prizes, which will be a choice of free attendance at either a future black belt seminar or in-house tournament. Only competitors that have an active Association membership will be entered in the raffle. Register for the tournament early - before Nov 29 - to have 3x the chance to win a prize! Members that sign up for the tournament early will have three raffle tickets entered in the drawing, and members that sign up late (after Nov 29) will have one raffle ticket entered in the drawing.
Tournament Volunteers: As always, we are looking for volunteers to help run the tournament. We need referees, ring managers, time keepers, score keepers and setup staff. Volunteers do not have to stay for the entire event, but we are asking that you commit to one of the 2.5 hour shifts: 8:00am-10:30am (setup), 10:30am-1:00pm or 1:00pm-3:30pm. Volunteers will receive free attendance at a future Black Belt Seminar or In-House Tournament. If you would like to volunteer, please fill out the online volunteer sign-up form to help us coordinate the staff.
