I gave a long speech last year about how only 5% of blue belts go on. This is not the case at GBNH. We have only lost one blue belt and now we have about 36-37 blues currently training here. That is amazing!
I think everyone will agree, blue belt promotion is the most exciting. You all will be targets by higher ranking blue belts that want to keep you in your place. Purple belts will now view you as practice dummies. White belts will now challenge you to find out where they stand.
You now have to defend your belt. Will you get caught by white belts? Yes! Should this be the norm? No! Take pride in that belt and do your best to represent it well. You will spend more time at blue belt than at any other. this is your time to experiment with different styles and techniques. Find out which game works best for you. Have fun as blue belt is a great time to learn.
