We never talk about what you need to do to progress but I want to go over a few things.
1) If you are working towards your blue, just keep doing what you are doing. You are lucky to be surrounded by tons of students who have been where you are. They are also invested in your progress. So just take the pointers you are given and make small adjustments.
2) If you are working towards your purple, keep expanding your game and keep challenging yourself. We have tons of very talented blue belts a few purple belts and a couple of brown belts. You guys need to seek out the highest belt and best talent to roll with when ever possible. If you are in a mixed class and it's time to roll, grab another blue belt or a higher rank. Be selfish, you have earned the right to roll with higher belts before the white belts get to.
3) We have a few purple belts that will someday be browns. Here is my feeling about that promotion. In addition to attending classes and learning the technique, you have to be either a world beater in competitions or become an expert at teaching. I want to see investment in learning but also passing on the Gracie Barra way.
Blue and Purple belts also need to roll with me as much as possible. I'm rolling several hours a day now so find some time.
