Friday Open Mats
Permalink

A few of us were talking about the friday open mats. I think if a few of us "dedicate" specific fridays that we all can get together it could really benefit all of us.

Most of us have families and life in general that require planning to get away from at times. Open mats can be alot better if more people show up. We all have different skill sets and strengths, and sizes to work with.

Maybe every other friday starting this friday 7/24 6pm-8pm. Maybe treating it like an actual class may help. It helps me to treat it that way.

Maybe afterwards John can rent us the goonies and we can all sit around watch together too!!!!

There was an important message in there somewhere... I hope it wasn't lost when I mentioned the goonies.

Also, I think the goonies were kind of a team.

My guess is that filming rolling sessions on open mat would probably easier than during the week so bring your video cameras if you remember.

I learned alot from film sessions when I used to play other sports.

Hey Dan-
I was looking in to buying a camcorder for this purpose and I know you filmed NAGA, do you have any suggestions and price ranges for decent one
                                                                                           Thanks-Mike

My wife actually did it on our camera.

My actual camcorder is like 8 years old, it works fine but still uses tape and is a pain to transfer onto my PC.

I don't know too much about the newer ones, but my camera did a good job at close range.

I'm going to start trying to come on Fridays. I've been doing Mon and Wed no gi. I think I'm just about ready to add some more mat time.
